The 2025 Athena is nearly here!

The fifth instalment of golf’s most innovative format showcases the current stars of the WPGA Tour of Australasia and a host of promising rookies ready to showcase their vast array of skills.

Former winners include current Ladies European Tour players Kirsten Rudgeley and Kelsey Bennett, Bennett victorious 12 months ago against Amy Chu in the final.

The 12 players will participate in nine challenges in Saturday’s ‘Combine’ with the top eight on the leaderboard to advance to ‘The Playoffs’ on Sunday.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of the event teeing off this weekend at Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club.

FORMAT

Day 1: The Combine - Saturday

12 Players
Nine Challenges -

Challenge 1: 100m Shot

Challenge 2: Lob Shot

Challenge 3: Trouble Shot

Challenge 4: Bunker Shot

Challenge 5: Mystery Shot

Challenge 6: Long Putt

Challenge 7: Longest Drive

Challenge 8: Optimum Drive

Challenge 9: Nearest the Pin

25 points are awarded to the winner of each challenge.
Top eight players advance to Day 2 - The Playoffs.

Day 2: The Playoffs - Sunday

Top eight are ranked by Combine leaderboard.
Round one matches are 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5.
Four-hole stroke play matches.
Playoff holes are all on Peninsula Kingswood's North Course – Holes 5, 6, 7 and 18.
Winners progress.
A “Putt Off” breaks any tie.
